What We Learned at AI FORWARD > Future Work: Real-World AI, Infrastructure Trends, and What’s Next

On June 24th, AlloComp hosted AI FORWARD >Future Work, a one-day event focused on the practical realities of AI infrastructure – from deployment to adoption, from strategy to implementation.

What stood out most?

The clear shift from asking “What is AI?” to “How do we use it right now – and make it scale?”

This wasn’t a day of theoretical conversations. It was a day of shared insights and hard-won lessons across sectors – all centred around building, deploying, and managing AI infrastructure that works in the real world.

Infrastructure Must Adapt. Fast.

AI infrastructure is fundamentally different from legacy compute and it is evolving at unprecedented pace.  Speakers at the event highlighted several key shifts:

    • Modular infrastructure is gaining traction, not just for its speed and flexibility, but for smarter capital investment. Build what you need now. Expand later.
    • Liquid cooling is no longer optional. As one speaker put it, “Once you’re deploying more than a dozen AI servers, liquid cooling is essential.” Efficiency, sustainability, and density demand it.
    • Real-time operational impact – especially in supply chain and manufacturing – is already being achieved through AI. This isn’t future state. It’s now.

These conversations affirmed our mission at AlloComp: to help organisations deploy optimised AI infrastructure that’s ready today and built for tomorrow.

Getting Started with AI: A Common Challenge

While some attendees shared advanced use cases, others were just beginning their journey – and weren’t sure where to start.

This echoed something we hear often: “We know we should be doing something with AI. We just don’t know what or how.”

That’s exactly why we bring AI FORWARD events  – to connect users with developers, strategists or infrastructure providers and give them clarity on:

    • Where to start
    • How to scale
    • Who to partner with
    • How to extract real value from data and infrastructure

Whether you’re automating a single process or designing a full-scale AI data environment, we believe accessible, modular, and supported infrastructure is key.

One of the strongest themes from the day?
Collaboration.

Speakers highlighted how innovation in Ireland is being driven by an ecosystem – not silos.

From innovation labs to cross-sector partnerships, the success stories shared during the day were powered by shared knowledge, open dialogue, and trusted partners.

As an Authorised Dell Partner, AlloComp is proud to be part of that ecosystem – delivering proven infrastructure solutions and working alongside leaders in hardware, cooling, storage, and deployment.

What’s Next

We’re already planning the next event – AI FORWARD >Future Health – this time focusing on AI in Healthcare and Life Sciences.

We’ll explore topics like:

    • Secure AI infrastructure for sensitive data
    • AI-assisted diagnostics and imaging
    • Edge AI in clinical and pharmaceutical environments
    • Compliance, ethics, and safety in AI deployment
